On behalf of the Law School of Renming University of China, we have the pleasure of inviting you to the International Symposium on Hans Kelsen and Contemporary East-Asia Legal Civilization, to be held in Beijing on May 25th �C 26th 2011, which is jointly organized by the University of Vienna in Austria, the Hans Kelsen-Institute in Vienna and the University of Kiel in Germany.

The Symposium is dedicated to the 130th Anniversary of the birth of Hans Kelsen, one of the most important and greatest jurists and legal philosophers of the 20th century, whose theory of democracy and liberty plays a significant role in constitutional research and practice of Europe and East Asia as well. This Symposium will be held in Beijing on May 25th -26th 2011. It will provide us a unique opportunity to share points of views with other scholars from different countries and even different continents. Aside from presentations and roundtable discussions, an exhibition on studies of Hans Kelsen’s legal thought in different languages, sponsored by Law School of Renming University, will open during the conference. It will be our honor to welcome you to this event.
